What we collect, and what we don’t

You are trusting us with information about your immigration situation, which is about as personal as information gets. This page says plainly what Arrivée holds and why, in the order it is collected.

Everything stays in Canada. Accounts, profiles, documents, chat transcripts and visit records are all stored in Amazon Web Services’ Montreal region. Nothing is copied to a server outside the country, and nothing is sold, rented or shared with advertisers — ever.

Visits to this website

We count visits so we know which pages are useful and how people find us. This is measured by our own software on our own servers — there is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracking script anywhere on this site.

For each visit we record the pages you opened and how long you stayed, the site or search engine you arrived from, any campaign tag in the link you clicked, and what your browser reports about itself: its time zone, its language, and the size of your screen and window. Your time zone is where our estimate of your location comes from — it is an approximation, not GPS.

We do not store your IP address. Our server sees it, as every web server must, and converts it immediately into a one-way code that changes every day; the address itself is never written down. Nothing you type into a form, the chat, or the CRS calculator is recorded by this measurement.

Your member account

If you create a free account we store the email address and password you registered with, and whatever you choose to put in your profile — your name, phone number, country, current status and immigration goal. Every field on that page is optional except the email address you signed in with.

Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and are never visible to us. Once you sign in, the visits described above can be connected to your account, so we know which member was reading what.

Documents you upload

Files you upload in the member portal are stored encrypted and are readable only by you and by Tianna Feng. They are never shared with anyone else and are never used for anything other than your file.

Deleting a document in the portal deletes it for real — the file is removed, not hidden, and there is no earlier version left behind.

The website assistant

Conversations with the chat assistant are stored so we can see what visitors are asking and improve our answers, and are automatically deleted after two years. The assistant runs on Amazon Bedrock in Canada; your messages are not used to train anyone’s model.

Please do not send passport numbers, UCI numbers or document details through the chat. It is not the right place for them, and the assistant is instructed not to accept them.

Turn off visit measurement

This switch stops this browser being counted and clears the id we use to recognise it. It is remembered in this browser only, so it has to be set again on another device — and it will be forgotten if you clear your site data.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we already honour it and nothing is recorded, whatever this switch says.

Asking what we hold, or asking us to delete it

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email tianna.feng@arrivee.ca and we will respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires.

Visit records are deleted automatically after one year and chat transcripts after two. Files in your member portal and your profile are kept until you delete them or ask us to close the account. Where we are required to keep records of professional work for the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, those obligations come first — we will say so if that applies to you.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Questions about any of this go to tianna.feng@arrivee.ca. See also our membership tiers.
